The Bärenzwinger in Köllnischer Park is a municipal exhibition space operated by the Department of Art, Culture, and History at the Mitte District Office. Since 2017, the curatorial program has been organized by a rotating team of CAMPI Fellows from the Department of Art, Culture, and History at the Mitte District Office.
The Department of Art, Culture, and History operates four additional municipal galleries: Kunst Raum Mitte, Galerie Nord, Galerie Wedding, and Klosterruine Berlin. The district’s exhibition spaces are members of the Association of Berlin’s Municipal Galleries.

The Department of Art, Culture, and History sees itself as the driving force behind a vibrant network that is sensitive to issues of discrimination and committed to diversity. The department’s team and the team at the Bärenzwinger are committed to respectful cooperation.
Discriminatory actions and statements based on racist or anti-Semitic stereotypes, ethnic origin, nationality, sexual and gender identity, religion, a physical or mental illness, a chronic illness, age, language, or social status are not tolerated. Regardless of their nationality, people in Germany are protected from discrimination by the General Equal Treatment Act (AGG) and the Berlin State Anti-Discrimination Act (LADG). Every person has the right to take action against discrimination, either on their own behalf or on behalf of others.

Supervisory Staff and House Rules
Visitors must follow the instructions of the supervisory staff. Visitors who fail to comply with these instructions may be asked to leave the building and may be barred from the premises. The right to enforce these rules is exercised by the responsible staff members of the Bärenzwinger and by third parties authorized by them.
Photography and Filming
Photography and filming are generally permitted for personal use and for documenting exhibitions and events (including for press and public relations purposes). Photography for commercial and academic purposes is permitted only with written authorization from the Berlin Mitte District Office. The commercial publication of photographs taken on the premises also requires written authorization from the Berlin Mitte District Office.
