Please note that our educational program is currently only in German.
The educational programs invite children and young people to playfully discover the B\u00e4renzwinger, its history, architecture and exhibitions through various senses.
Artists make the exhibition site accessible in creative and diverse ways.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Neighbourhood day<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Since 2024, the B\u00e4renzwinger has been inviting all neighbours and interested parties to an afternoon of coffee and cake. Under the motto \u2018Coffee, cake and \u2026 \u2019, the B\u00e4renzwinger opens its doors one day per exhibition for a cosy get-together of the neighbourhood. While we enjoy coffee and homemade cake, we also have the opportunity to chat informally about art and culture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Information about the Neighbourhood Days will be announced in the supporting programme of the respective exhibitions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

SUNDAY ART MAKERS (SAM) \u2013 Your new creative Sunday at the Municipal Galleries Berlin-Mitte<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

*During the winter months, SAM will not take place at the B\u00e4renzwinger due to weather conditions. The program will resume there in the spring. Updated dates will be announced on our website in due time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Starting in August, Berlin-Mitte will be bursting with colour and creativity! Every first Sunday of the month, visitors will have the opportunity to discover, try out and participate in contemporary art! The brand-new Sunday Art Makers (SAM) format will launch at the municipal galleries Kunst Raum Mitte, B\u00e4renzwinger and Galerie Wedding. Together with experienced art educators and creative professionals, children, teenagers and adults can discover, experience and help shape contemporary art in new, interactive ways. The formats are organised in collaboration with the municipal galleries Berlin-Mitte and the MiK Youth Art School.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The gallery is transformed into a place full of possibilities \u2013 a space for imagination, curiosity and inspiration: Who organises an exhibition and what happens behind the scenes? Who decides what art is and where does it even begin? Where do the materials in an exhibition come from and how can you actually turn everyday objects into works of art yourself? Whether alone, with friends or the whole family \u2013 SAM is for everyone who wants to spend their Sunday being creative and active. Instead of the traditional Sunday rest, we focus on imaginative activities: painting, designing, writing, modelling, experiencing and experimenting. Participants can try out various forms of artistic expression \u2013 regardless of their previous knowledge. SAM invites you to discover your own creativity \u2013 in a relaxed atmosphere with plenty of room for your own ideas. We look forward to seeing you \u2013 let’s make some art! \u2013 and become a SUNDAY ART MAKER!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
